Another Easy Beef Stew in a Crock Pot

2 lbs stewing beef
Bag of baby carrots
1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 lbs red potatoes, cut in small chunks
Can of tomato soup
1 soup can of water
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 TBSP vinegar

Combine all ingredients in crock pot.
Cover and cook on Low for 8-9 hours.

Why add vinegar to the stew? It seems to me it would make the stew too sharp tasting. What other spices do you use beside pepper(red or black or both)?

The vinegar enhances the flavor. I like the taste of it in this stew. I use black pepper. You can add garlic and any seasoning your little heart desires. :D
Sometimes I use Mrs Dash since I'm not big on salt.

I have never tried putting vinegar in a stew before so will have to give that a try sometime. I think it would be okay because of the tomato soup that is also used in the recipe. We usually have celery in our stew so that would be the only thing diiferent I would add to your recipe when I make it.
