Beginner needs help. Low temperature in Grill

Hello all,

I'm new to grilling and need some help.

Equipment:
  • Weber Performer Grill
  • Weber chimney starter large
  • Lump charcoal (from Expert Grill)
For whatever reason I can't get the temperature beyond 320 ⁰F. After a few minutes it goes even below that. I use the large chimney starter (one filling) wait until the coral is 80% gray up to the top before filling the coral into the grill.

I tried with the vents open with the vents closed, with the same results. Spreading the coral out or leaving it in one spot doesn't make a difference either.

Could anyone give me a hint on what to change?
